Greek sound artist Dimitris Sanziliotis aka Bellerophone creates dense, dark soundscapes that manage to combine the static feel of drones with an unsettling throbbing pulse. Purely analogue gear and the use of outdated techniques contribute to a sound that is very different from purely digital laptop music.

This album of “Sonic Sculptures”, as Bellerophone calls an ongoing series of works, is the outcome of a process that can be described as a game guided by intuition, part composed and part improvised. The sound materials used include field recordings and drones in various speeds and frequencies, events that loop randomly throughout the compositions in their original or distorted form, and layers of sound recorded and mixed during a live performance.
