"MODERN RITUAL MUSIC" IS A COMPILATION OF DARK EXPERIMENTAL AMBIENT TRACKS TAKEN FROM TWO ALBUMS BY JAKUB-MONIKA EXPRESSIONS.

The project has started in 2016 in Tychy (Poland) as a three-member band playing experimental, noise post-punk. At the time, it was called P*I*G and all the songs were the result of a collaboration between Jakub-Monika Lampart (guitar, vocals) and Aivilo Tot (bass, vocals). They've played the first P*I*G material with many drummers. The first album "Under The Influences Of Birds, Flowers And Sky Above" was recorded at the beginning of 2017 in Warsaw and was released by the band members themselves on CD and as a zine (which has included artworks by Aivilo and J-M.L. and CD inside). The last two songs of this compilation are taken from it. Everything has changed in the middle of 2017 when the project has became a one-man activity of Jakub-Monika Lampart and the atmosphere of music has turned more into industrial-folk. The second album "The Impulse Church" was recorded in 2017 in Tychy at home of J-M.L. and consisted mainly of experimental, multi-track sound collages with elements of melodic, psychedelic folk. It was released by J-M.L. himslef on CD and as a Zine (with a CD inside). None of the songs from it have ever been played live at any concert. Jakub-Monika has continued performing as P*I*G and at the turn of 2017 and 2018 has worked on a setlist a little bit more convenient to perform live. At the beginning of 2018 in the studio in Chorzów and at his home the third P*I*G album called "The 2255" was recorded. The name comes from a new kind of music J-M.L. wanted to createat the time, in aim to describe his music. The genre of 2255 was supposed to be any mix of styles and defining music ''2255'' worked to prevent categorizing it in terms of existing genres. The album was released on CD by J-M.L. himslef (You can also buy it on CD from 267 lattajjaa label). The name P*I*G has changed to Jakub-Monika Expressions. At the end of 2018, J-M.L. has announced the end of his activity as Jakub-Monika Expressions and has released "A Farewell Album: Unfinished Compositions" (the first 4 songs of this compilation came from it). Currently, his ''new incarnation'' is Ink Fi, whose music can be described somehow as a mix of experimental 90s and some other styles (the first album is now available on tapes through Ink Fi bandcamp and through Dendron Records).
