Conclusive Entanglement is a loose improvising collective formed by EMERGE and varying guest musicians. For this session, recorded on 24 January, 2015 in Augsburg, EMERGE was joined by Am.Eise, a veteran of industrial outfit Sägende Dissidenten aka SN.D, as well as Neon and Simon Selfdestruction from Young & Cold Records, spanning three generations of the local experimental music scene.

The line-up gives a good impression of the wide range of approaches to music and technology that were amalgamated in this session, combining the forcedly analogue with the latest digital tools. Simon Selfdestruction played the traditional Vietnamese ‘danbau’ monochord, a custom-built feedback machine, but also an iPad. EMERGE supplemented his samplers with live sound from a music box, water, bottles, and screws. Am.Eise worked the laptop, while Neon supplied a more vintage take on electronic music making with an array of analogue synthesizer, step sequencer, and a modular system.

File under: improvisation, drone, electro

A collective work by various artists in Emerge Attenuation Circuit orbit, including Emerge himself. Cause different styles and approaches, the release (double cassette) is closer to a sort of compilation than a project with a strong unity. But the average quality of tracks is remarkable. Also I find a certain influence of Throbbing Gristle about some tracks, a thing that I always appreciate a lot. ***
