SKREI is a drone project of Giuseppe Capriglione.
The loop tape is only sound element of live . Processing and working with multitracker tape recorder, are creating a minimal Drone Sound.

VITAL WEEKLY
Skrei is Giuseppe Capriglione, and of him I didn't hear before. Apparently he uses one tape loop as a sound source, which is then processed and reworked using a multi-tracker tape recorder. Here too we have the impression of a (semi-) live recording, the immediate action of recording an idea, rather than meticulously performed composition that is the result of editing. It is not as not noise based as the release I just heard, but the industrial element is never far away. Here too one easily has the impression of being locked down in a factory, and the workers aren't out for lunch break. It is also a bit unformed, not entirely finished or simply the result of improvising with a bunch of tapes. Having said that, I found more musical pleasure in these thirty-one minutes than in the Konkete Anti-Wulst release. One could think of this as some kind of unnerving ambient music. If you want!

UNRUHR / BLACK online

DEAD FREQUENCIES
Skrei is a drone project of Giuseppe Capriglione and this is the first time I am listening to his project. Giuseppe know how to deal with effects, loops and samples. The proof is ”Cörengrätö”, masterpiece packed in something more than thirty minutes. The first thing that cought my attention is a tape loop he’s using as a sound source and that’s the key element why I fallen in love with this project at the first listening. Sounds are so listenable, organic, earthy that will impress even the pickiest fans of drone music. It is simply amazing how the sound is evolving during this recording, with all those loops overlaying one over another and still they are not spoiling the main concept, which is the tender drone sound. Sure, there is some minimal industrial involvement, but the sound is still based on drones rumbling around in circles. Don’t be spoiled by the longitude of the track, because this one will pass like train in front of you and it will be the best half of an hour you will spent in the long time. Skrei will not dissapoint you in any case.
