Newgrange from Ireland and Blakkr Nið from Canada share an interest in the doom-laden, atmospheric aspects of black metal. On this mini-album, they join their efforts on guitar and synths to create a dense, melancholic and totally metal-free ambient gem.

All instrumental, these four compositions show how much common ground there is between the more experimental strands of metal and ambient music that is inspired by a more ‘electronic’ background. The important thing here is that Newgrange and Blakkr Nið make no use whatsoever of the histrionics commonly associated with black metal, but focus purely on the music.
